Originally built during the height of the roadside motel era, this Oakland property was reimagined for Sonder with a renewed appreciation for its Mid-Century roots. Our design approach focused on honoring the building's original character while introducing a fresh, contemporary perspective for modern travelers.

Drawing inspiration from the era's iconic forms, materials, and color palettes, we carefully balanced nostalgia with functionality, creating spaces that feel both timeless and relevant. The result is a thoughtful revival that celebrates the property's history while offering a distinctly modern guest experience.
