...Shocker! Basically every teenager is begging their Mom for a boho bedroom and I get this request literally ALL. THE . DAMN. TIME. My biggest piece of advice when re-decorating your kids/young adults rooms is to get them involved- I'm always shocked when I ask parents what their kids want or like and they tell me that they're too young to know what they like. I remember when I was a freshman in high school my Mom let me pick new furniture for my room and it felt so amazing to be in a room with pieces I had picked. Granted, it was all solid wood mahogany and I hate it now BUT thats not the point! Even just asking them something as simple as the style they want, the color they want their walls or letting them help you pick out patterns will get them excited and make them feel like they're having a say in their space which is really important as they're the ones that are going to be living in it!
Lucky for you I thought I'd share a little project I was working on today for a very cool Mama and show you how to get the boho look without breaking the bank AND without making your home look like it's straight out of the Urban Outfitters catalog (although some of it IS from there because hey you can't beat those prices!). I am constantly coming back to Jessica Alba's gorgeous guest room for inspiration. Designed by LA based design firm Consort Design, it mixes bohemian elements seamlessly with some of my favorite midcentury pieces such as the infamous Serge Mouille 3-arm chandelier, and throws in a little glam with pops of color and texture. Scroll down to find out how to get the look (for what I'm assuming is a fraction of the cost!).
