The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Cindy Crawford's Mole, and Burl Wood...what do they have in common you ask? They're all made more beautiful by their flaws! A 'burl' is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner, usually caused by some kind of stress such as injury, virus, fungus, insect infestation or mold growth. Burl wood is the wood harvested from that growth. Glossy burl wood, when paired with brass, lucite and velvet, call back to art deco-era design - but its organic swirls and twirls lends itself oh so well to bohemian texture and prints.
